For years Laurie Knoop was renowned in her family and among friends for her creative and imaginative cooking and entertaining. It was a natural step to pursue a career in food media. Once her daughter was grown, she moved back to New York City and attended the Institute of Culinary Education. With a friend's encouragement, she decided that food styling was the next step.
Laurie then apprenticed for the next five years with some of the best food stylists on the East Coast. She has worked as a food stylist for all varieties of media for more than a decade and has done recipe development and testing, taught food styling at ICE, and has written articles for food publications. She owns Studio 129, a food-photography rental studio in Harlem, where she has produced award-winning web videos for culinary sites. Studio 129 is fully equipped with an extensive collection of styling props.
Laurie believes in the creative process as a collaborative effort and will go to any length to get the best product for client. She shares her warm and inviting rental studio with her trusty sidekick, TU2, the fox terrier.
